The Intercontinental Hotel San Francisco or 888 Howard Street is a highrise hotel currently under construction in San Francisco, California. The hotel will be 104 m tall and have 32 stories containing 550 hotel rooms operated by the InterContinental Hotel. The hotel will stand right next to the Moscone West Center completed in 2003. The hotel is set to open in 2008. There will be a two level underground garage and a six floor podium housing hotel amenities.

[edit] Current progress

The main contractor, Webcor Builders has the tower at level 25 and concrete core at level 29. Many parts of the metal awning are fixed on and blue curtainwall glass has been installed on the first 12 floors. Interior work is underway on the first few floors, with completed interior framework complete up to the 9th floor. Steelwork for the ballrooms and other amenities located on the tower base are nearing completion. The crane has been raised twice in Fall of 2006, January and Feburary 2007.
