Integral Education is the philosophy and practice of education for the whole child: body, emotions, mind, soul, and spirit. It is based on the teachings in education of Sri Aurobindo and especially The Mother. It has been taught and refined over half a century at the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education in Pondicherry.
- Mirambika, the school run by Sri Aurobindo Ashram - Delhi branch also imparts integral education by following the Free Progress system.
- The New Life Education Trust Matrubhaban, Sri Aurobindo Marg, Cuttack - oversees a wide chain of Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Centres in Orissa, India. Most of these secondary schools are in rural areas set up with local initiative. Babaji Sri Ramkrishna Das and Prapatti, Kangali Charan Pati were the dominant inspiration.
- The Center for Integral Education, San Diego, CA was founded in 1998. In 1994, Prapanna Smith, when he was sent to the Indian State of Orissa by Babaji Sri Ramkrishna Das, visited Sri Aurobindo Marg in Cuttack and nine rural Integral Education schools. Profoundly moved by what he saw and experienced at these special places, Prapanna was inspired to introduce Integral Education in the USA. He later founded the Center for Integral Education in 1998. Today the Center for Integral Education runs the first two Integral Education Schools in the USA, both located in San Diego, California: the Rainbow Kids Integral Preschool and the Integral Elementary School of La Jolla.
