[edit] Description

INTVAS is a non-profit organization formed in 2006, whose goal it is to simulate real-world aviation by providing aviation enthusiasts a network in which they can serve as a pilot, using a flight simulator, or as an air traffic controller.

It aims at simulating global aviation as realistically as possible in an amicable and relaxed atmosphere where help is available for everyone.

[edit] How It Works

Members can access the INTVAS network anywhere on the globe with an internet connection and Flight Simulator. Pilots use two main software applications called FSINN and SquawkBox to connect to the network and ATC use Pro Controller or MacRadarScope for Apple Macintosh users. Pilots and ATC communicate with each other either by text or with voice using the VoIP client Teamspeak. All software is free of charge.

[edit] Competitors

A new network, INTVAS has had difficulty gathering pilots. Its membership count is much lower than those of network counterparts VATSIM and IVAO. VATSIM has almost 115,000 registered members and IVAO has more than 70,000.

[edit] Members

As of the 27th March 2007, INTVAS has 786 members. Its members mostly connect from Brazil.
