I created this category after talking with another user about lawyer categorization in general on one of the articles. A category for international lawyers sounded like a fairly good idea. The reason is that this can differentiate between a lawyer who simultaneously practices all over the world versus a lawyer who started practicing law in one country, then moved to a new country and practiced there. It also can serve as a filter of sorts to help identify particularly important international lawyers as a group.

I'll populate the category as I spot articles to include in my current review of lawyer articles, but please feel free to populate it with anyone you feel is appropriate. And of course if anybody has any questions or suggestions or complaints about the category, go ahead and discuss or change as needed. Dugwiki 22:32, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

This is not a maintainable category and has been poorly defined. Every lawyer deals with international people. Every lawyer travels. NO lawyer practices all over the world due to licensing issues. Are you suffering from OCD? Creating a category without a single example is kind of weird. Doczilla 22:08, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

No need for personal insults. If you don't like the category idea, that's fine, but lay off the OCD comments.

Also, if you don't like the category description that's fine, but don't simply delete the entire thing. If you think you have a clearer definition, make those changes. If you think the category can't be fixed, submit it for deletion but leave the intro intact for reference.

And, finally, the category was not, in my opinion, poorly defined. It was fairly specific: lawyers that are licensed to and actively practice in multiple countries simultaneously. The topic came up on another article that some lawyers do this. If that information is incorrect, that's fine, but that is what I was following up on.

With that in mind I'm reverting the deleted intro to its original. Make changes or suggestions if you like, but please don't simply delete the whole thing, thanks. Dugwiki 15:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Someone posted a lengthy biography of Omar Garcia-Bolivar in this category by mistake. Note that this is a category, not an article page, so individual bios should be created as articles and, if they qualify for inclusion here, have the category added at the end.

Copying and pasting the Omar Garia-Bolivar page to its own article, Omar Garcia-Bolivar. Dugwiki 21:08, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
