[edit] Improvements

This article covers an important government agency, but it needs to be brought into line with the general encyclopedia standards. It appears that much of it is copied directly from the website. Since I am not familiar with Bangladeshi copyright laws we shouldn't rush to cut all the copied material. However it does need to be summarised and brought into line with our NPOV policy. In any case, we have a good base to work from. -Willmcw 09:34, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

  • Thanks for your concern. I have created this page for my organisation, IWM, as, at present, assigned to update with our information to the encyclopedias. So there should have no worries about copyright policy. The suggession for getting into line with NPOV policy is to be reflected now, and as such we shall really appreciate if you provide us some specific recommendations and guidelines about the steps of making it more functional and appropriate as per the policy.-User:mfk 04:40 pm, 27 November 2005 (local)
On further review, I don't think that NPOV is the main problem. The main concern for this article, after some "wikilinking", is to make sure we don't weight it down with non-encyclopedic information (like meetings). It's good writing, but more detail than we need. Encyclopedias are all about summarising information. Not to worry. It's fine for the time being. Thanks for the contribution. -Willmcw 12:55, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Would you please tell me how I can insert picture in this page. I have created my user ID and uploaded the pictures which remain in "my contributions" folder, but cannot place in the IWM page. I am revising the text.

Here is an example of an image. If you try to edit this page you'll see the syntax. Just change the file name and the caption. Cheers, -Willmcw 08:05, 30 November 2005 (UTC) [[image:example.jpg|thumb|100px|This is an example]]

  • Thanks I followed and succeded. In the mean time I tried to creat the internal link and updated the history of IWM placing it to the background. I made it but at the time of deleting the unnecessary part that I aleady furnished in the backround paragraph is not happening. The page shows like it's not permitted. Can you clarify please?
It looks good now. Perhaps the old page was still in your browser's "cache". Or perhaps I don't understand your question. Anyway, nice work. -Willmcw 21:46, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Advert or wikipedia article?

I don't know what the intention was, but to me this looks more like an advert than a Wikipedia article. Am I wrong? Cheers, Daniel Collins 04:52, 9 February 2006 (UTC).

The intention is only to provide information to the readers. Now a days people likes to get information on everything through wikipedia. Every article on organisation in wikipedia contains more or less this kind of depiction. So nothing wrong is presented. mfk 09:50 am Bangladesh Time, 15 February 2006.
