When the French Chemist Lavoisier was guillotined he did an experiment: he attempted to continue to blink for as long as possible and asked friends to note how long it took to stop. I think he kept it up for something like 30 seconds. (Which is a possible answer to how long the brain can suvive following decapitation). The article on him says waht was counted was the number of words he tried to mouth but doesn't list how long he kept going. RJFJR 13:59, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
