Talk:Inside baseball

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article should link to an article on "process stories". If no one beats me to it, I will write something about that soon. --DV 12:05, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)

It's strange to see "inside baseball" used consistently as a noun here, when I've consistently seen it used as an adjective, usually preceded by "too." I don't think the noun form reflects common usage. -- Anonymous

[edit] This article is just plain wrong

Whoever wrote this has no idea what the term Inside Baseball really means. It's use as a slightly disparaging term came from Bill James. Specifically, it is the opposite of being overburdened by stats. It is about placing too much importance on insider information or "gut" decisions. Making cold statistical and unsentimental decisions is "outside baseball" and is what Bill James built his career on. I will try to fix this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.196.116.2 (talk) 14:23, 8 January 2007 (UTC).
