Institute of Engineering and Technology, popularly known as IET, is an engineering college affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. The college was founded as an autonomous institute in the year 1996. It is located in the Takshashila campus of the university on Khandwa Road in the south-east of Indore city.

Situated in a large lush green campus, IET offers undergraduate and graduate engineering programs in five major disciplines along with hosting a wide variety of research labs and student outreach programs.

IET was founded in the year 1996 as part of an effort to increase the number of seats in Engineering Colleges state-wide. Complementing the renowned DAVV School of Electronics and the International Institute for Professional Studies (IIPS), the college helped complement the Technology and Management related offerings from the University of Indore (DAVV). The presence of world renowned Scientific Institutes like Center for Advanced Technology (CAT) and growing technology parks around the city made it possible to provide the resources necessary to transform it into one of the leading centers of learning in Western Madhya Pradesh.

The institute in a constant upgradation mode. The Management has envisaged a supmtuous expansion plan for the institute that includes individual labs for each vertical in an engineering discipline and quarters for faculties.

Admission to the college is granted on the basis of applicants rank in the merit list from the Pre Engineering Test (PET) conducted by the state of Madhya Pradesh Education Board and some seats are alloted based on the AIEEE merit list, the exam is conducted by CBSE.

Computer Engineering department from the institute has produced many engineers with illustrious track record. Many of them are at good places in Global as well as national IT MNCs viz. IBM,Oracle,SAP,Tech Mahindra,CSC, Sapient, TCS, Wipro, Infosys.

Some of the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineers has secured top positions in All India GATE examination.

The reputation of the Mechancial Engineering department is established due to the excellent works of Prof R.S.Modh and Prof. A.I.Khandawawala.

The institute is currently the choice of top rank holders in MP.
