From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Founded in 1998, InSight USA was among the first companies to pioneer GPS Vehicle Tracking. The company's main product is ‘StreetEagle’ which uses the Global Positioning System to track and locate vehicles. The company operates among several verticles:
- Limousine
- Delivery
- Public Transportation
- Waste Management
- HVAC
- Public Safety
- EMS
The StreetEagle product is not only used for vehicle tracking but is also used to determine excessive idling time, unsafe driving habits and unauthorized vehicle use. The mapping software used in the product also allows for routing and dispatching. The system has real-time tracking with updates every two minutes as well as historical reports with data going back up to three months.
Dispatch personnel know where each vehicle in the fleet is located and their exact location thereby enabling the dispatch team to make up-to-the-moment vehicle management decisions.
The system displays locations of vehicles in real-time on multiple maps at different zoom levels. The dispatcher can easily zoom to the surrounding area to see which vehicles are in the vicinity for last minute requests for service. The system logs all vehicle locations and events. Any log can be played back to display the activities of any vehicle, group of vehicles, or all vehicles during a specified time interval.
The StreetEagle product is integrated with many industry wide solutions, for example the Livery Coach Software for the limousine industry and Clear Computing for the waste management industry.
InSight is headquartered in the Washington DC metropolitan area, with dealers located throughout the US. The company is privately owned.
