Inpop Records
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Inpop Records is an independent Contemporary Christian music record label based in Franklin, Tennessee. It was launched in July, 1999 by Australians Peter Furler, Wes Campbell and Dale Bray. The name was derived from the idea of wanting to highlight the talents of international pop artists, though they have signed an equal number of American artists. Artists on Inpop's roster include Newsboys, Mat Kearney, and Superchick.

[edit] History
When Newsboys lead singer Peter Furler and the band’s manager Wes Campbell first came to the USA, the last thing they thought they would become is record label owners.
Ten years later, and tired of sleeping in his tour bus bunk with hundreds of demo’s piled high (given to him from artists he met on tour). Furler decided it was time to do something about it, so Inpop Records was launched with Campbell and Australian friend and record executive Dale Bray in July 1999. "Traveling the globe, we’ve seen thousands of bands and artists. We have a calling to give these musicians the same opportunity Newsboys were given" says Furler. The heart of inpop is to discover the best artists around the world that understand the grace of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and also have something new and unique to offer to the world of Christian music.
[edit] Ties to Every Nation
The label's president, Wes Campbell, is a member of Bethel World Outreach Center, an Every Nation church. Rice Broocks, former Every Nation president, is a major stockholder and board member, as is Washington Redskins quarterback Mark Brunell. Tony Boselli, a former teammate of Brunell's on the Jacksonville Jaguars, is also on the board. Brunell and Boselli are members of Champions for Christ (an Every Nation ministry, and helped start an Every Nation church in Jacksonville.[1]
The Newsboys are one of InPop's best-known artists. The group's lead singer, Peter Furler, is a member of Bethel, and Campbell doubles as the group's manager. At one point, the Newsboys Web site included a link where visitors could purchase Biblical Foundations, a Bible study workbook published by Broocks and Murrell. It is popularly known as "The Purple Book". The link pointedly asks the question, "Have you done The Purple Book?" The site also included a letter from Furler describing how "doing The Purple Book" has changed him. A daily teaching by Laffoon was also given prominent space.[2] The Newsboys began downplaying their Every Nation ties on their site in the winter of 2005, though there is still a link to Laffoon's teachings there.
