Ino, Kōchi

Ino (いの町 Ino-chō?) is a town located in Agawa District, Kōchi, Japan. The town is famous for the production of Japanese paper, or washi (和紙). On October 1, 2004 the village of Gohoku and the village of Hongawa (from Tosa District) merged with the town, increasing its size by almost a factor of five.
As of the merger with Gohoku and Hongawa but with 2003 population statistics, the town has an estimated population of 27,960 and a population density of 59.4 persons per km². The total area is 470.71 km².
