inlingua is an international chain of language schools. As with similar organizations such as International House, individual schools are operated as franchises with staffing and most other affairs dealt with autonomously. However teaching materials, methods, branding and philosophy are uniform which encourages consistency throughout the organization. Founded in 1968, inlingua is headquartered in Berne, Switzerland and has almost 300 centres in 30 countries around the world serving hundreds of thousands of students every year.

Teaching practice is based on the "inlingua Method", a communicative approach to teaching which allows only the target language to be used and gives preference to oral fluency over written accuracy. The inlingua schools typically hold classes in a city-centre location as well as outsource teachers to corporate offices. Centres generally hold classes in English, the local native language(s) and other languages depending on the size of the centre and local demand.
