I noticed that you deleted "Heuristic Squelch." I am surprised, as the research I posted to the VfD discussion showed, I believe, that the entry was indeed notable. I did not see any rebuttal to my entry in the five or so days before you deleted the entry. As I do not believe a consensus was reached, I believe we should reinstate the article. If anyone wishes to address the claims of notability, we could then work towards a consensus.
Please note, I do not have a connection to the publication, but merely have read it and am aware of its existence. --Zippy 06:26, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
- I have re created the article, and submitted it for another AFD, with mention of the evidence you presented. If you wish to comment there, feel free. Cheers, Ingoolemo talk 08:52, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

I must respectfully disagree with you re your speedy deletion of the Dee Brown (Illini) page. I do not believe it met the criteria. I have added some external links & the appropriate stub to the article, and have recreated it. Please let me know if you're unhappy with this. Thanks Jackk 08:00, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Your response is a bit generic - "If you wish to protest a deletion, you may do so at Wikipedia:Votes for undeletion. Ingoolemo talk 08:49, 1 December 2005 (UTC)"
according to the link you reference, "Deletion Review is the process to be used by all editors, including administrators, who wish to challenge the outcome of any deletion debate or a speedy deletion unless:
* They are able to resolve the issue in discussion with the administrator (or other editor) in question;..."
I would prefer to have a discussion with you. In what way was my entry "absolutely unencyclopedic"?
- With the exception of the first sentence (which should have been trimmed to 'It is a Viennese coffeehouse'), the article was nothing more than random musings about various things related to the coffeehouse and some advice about how to avoid a tip. An encyclopedia is a collection of knowledge in a factual, organised fashion. The musings in the article are neither factual, nor verifiable, nor relevant. Furthermore, the article suffered from a lack of context (Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Articles reason 1). Ingoolemo talk 09:09, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia's definition for "encyclopedia" includes "...The encyclopedia as we recognize it today developed in the 18th century from the dictionary. A dictionary is primarily focused on words and their definition, and typically provides limited information, analysis or background for the word defined. Hence, while it may offer a definition, it may leave the reader still lacking in understanding the meaning or import of a term, and how the term relates to a broader field of knowledge.
To address those needs, an encyclopedia seeks to discuss each subject in more depth and convey the most relevant accumulated knowledge on that subject, given the overall length of the particular work..."
I believe that I have contributed relevant knowledge. In the absence of an alternative entry for the Cafe Pruckl, my entry represents the full sum of relevant accumulated knowledge on that subject.
In specific response to your challenge (of my challenge), I fear you have misread me.
1-I never discussed avoiding a tip. I gave information on how to give an appropriate tip. I have spent hundreds of hours at this cafe, over the last 15 years. I have friends and relatives who have been visiting this cafe for decades. The tipping code in Vienna ranges around 2%. Tipping more is actually received with contempt. An overtipper is quickly recognized as an ignorant tourist.
2-My musings are arguably factual. They're based on my experience of this cafe. I'm glad to discuss, with others, who have had factual experiences of this cafe, the accuracy of my observations.
3-My musings are both verifiable and relevant. They discuss the (admittedly) subjective art of having an appropriate culturally immersive experience of this cafe. That's much more relevant than simply announcing 'It is a Viennese coffeehouse'. And my entry is verifiable, simply by going to the Cafe Pruckl, and following my advice.
4-My entry was full of context. The context of the experience of the Cafe Pruckl. In contrast to *no* entry for the Cafe Pruckl, my entry is infinitely more contextual. To address your specific reference to (Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Articles reason 1), "...Limited content is not in itself a reason to delete if there is enough context to allow expansion. Google may help in determining context, though, and allow for the article's expansion."
If you have an alternative entry, or would like to work with me to create an appropriate entry for the Cafe Pruckl, I would enjoy that. From your archives, you have extensive experience with wikipedia. I was surprised and delighted to find a gap that I could fill, in wikipedia, a resource that I use regularly and respect. Thanks for your time.
- Well Kris, I'm sorry to be so harsh and absolute, but I don't think that your article merits inclusion, and I probably won't change my mind. You can still submit a WP:VFU if you'd like, but the results probably won't be any different. I'm sorry. Ingoolemo talk 16:56, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

- All logos depicted at this site should be regarded as being the property of the respective team or league. You should absolutely not try to make money by printing these helmet images onto something and then selling it. Nor do you have the right to use these images for financial gain. [1]
- Because of this caveat, the images are almost certainly unavailable for commercial use, and therefore incompatible with Wikipedia, unless tagged with {{fairusein}}. I am beginning the tagging process now. Ingoolemo talk 19:10, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] no source images
Hello,
I had a general questions. I no source tagged a bunch of images from the Wikipedia:Untagged images page. Today I noticed from my watch list that you nsd tagged them. Did I tag them wrong? What is the difference between no source and nsd and when should one be used in preference to the other. --Kaiserb 18:33, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
- I created {{nsd}} this morning as a way of thinning out CAT:NS. In terms of policy, there's no difference between {{nsd}} and {{no source}}. The difference is the categories that the template puts the image in. For example, {{no source|December 5}} puts the image in Category:Images with unknown source, but {{nsd|December 5}} puts the image in Category:Images with unknown source: December 5. Any admin clearing out CAT:NS will know for certain that images in the latter category can be deleted after December 12, whereas in the former category they'd have to go through all the individual images looking for ones that could be deleted.
- The short version: nsd makes things slightly easier for admins on patrol. Ingoolemo talk 18:38, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

- Thanks much. I will mark the images nsd in the future.

Thanks for uploading Image:Corsica.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. Hi Ingoolemo: First of all, thank you for voting on the arbitration elections, even if your vote was against me. Believe it or not, I like it when people call me naive or what was the other thing you said.
The reason is that, I like the constructive criticism. I think you can help me out by letting me know which areas you think I can improve and then I can work on those areas. As much as I have written here (3 years and counting now trust me and it never gets old!) I always look to improve because after all, we are an internet spectre (everyone sees us, so we need to be the best writers we can be), and because of that, any suggestion you may have for my writing style to be improved will be greatly appreciated.
Anyways, thanks for everything, and God bless you! I hope we can become wiki-friends!
Sincerely yours, Antonio McCartney's Lover Martin
- I guess that the issue is not that you aren't qualified, but that we have differences in opinions about the issues. Thus, I can't merely recommend, 'you could do X better.' Rather, I'll have to present my own values and vision for Wikipedia to you, and attempt to persuade you to accept them. Whether or not you choose to embrace my philosophy is your choice, of course. I hardly expect you to abandon your beliefs in order to gain votes. In short: though we respect each other, we don't agree with each other.
- As per your request, I will eventually post some soundsnacks of my opinions for you to mull over. Unfortunately, as you may have noted from my Candidate Questions page, I'm not always timely about getting around to such things. But I promise that I'll post more some time in the next few weeks. You're so picky. It's just a userpage(not to mention I'm just getting used to the whole wiki formatting thing). Html is more second nature. I did however take your advice, if that's any consolation.
