Ingush-Chechen fratricide incident

Ingush-Chechen fratricide incident was a September 13, 2006 incident in which eight police were killed [1] and about 20 wounded when Chechen and Ingush policemen fired on each other on the border between the republics.
A motorcade of Chechnya's OMON special police buses was riddled with bullets as it was leaving neighbouring Ingushetia, heading home with a suspect caught there. The Chechen OMON Chief of Staff, Buvadi Dukhiyev, died of his wounds.
Isa Kostoyev, a former high-ranking prosecutor and Ingushetian senator in Federation Council of Russia, issued a call to the residents of Ingushetia to offer resistance the Chechen police raids. [2]
