[edit] How to use this template
Here is the current syntax for using this template:
- Insert this starting as the first line of the article.
- If no information is available, leave it blank (ex. "quote= ").
- Don't wiki-link the subject_name parameter.
- Do wiki-link the others parameters as in the example below.
- When using the template in an article, there must also be a JPG (.jpg) image uploaded which matches the article name exactly (Thomas Edison requires that Image:Thomas Edison.jpg exists). This is to encourage users to use a single standard naming convention for at least one picture per article.
- If the subject is not yet deceased, define:
- date_of_death= | (blank)
- place_of_death= | (blank)
Example from Thomas Edison:

- For a very similar Infobox, being worked on along a different design path, take a look at Template:Infobox Biography. It does not currently include a "quote" field, and allows any image name to be used. Either one may be used, depending on editor preference.
[edit] Discussion
WTF? You can't "win" one discussion, so you just bugger off and ignore others' comments?

- Please don't be beligerent. I've "forked" the development of this concept, because I think people will prefer this format. -- Netoholic @ 03:12, 2004 Sep 13 (UTC)
[edit] Image bug
There seems to be a image scaling bug that manifests when the image is narrower that the box. It gets unneccessarily scaled and distorted. Kpjas 1 July 2005 07:38 (UTC)
