[edit] Class succession box

Generally speaking, I think this infobox is great and love how it can bring some desperately needed consistency to our naval articles. However, I do not care for the way it handles info that was formerly in the class succession box (see Virginia class cruiser as an example of the old box in use). Specifically, I really like having a separate 'Class Overview' section immediately under the photo which lists some of the basic information on the class (type of ships, origin of the class name) as well as gives quick access links for navigating the classes of that type (preceding class, succeeding class). My preference for this template would be to have just the old box's info at the top (similar to how it is done via the older {{Infobox Ship Class}} template), but I am willing to consider moving that info to its own table (perhaps left justified like here) or even a separate infobox. Greetings.

This box is very good (I appreciate attention to details like the "boats" field). If I may suggest a few things which would make my life even better:

  • Change the flag field to something more "manual" (presently, flags are big and it is a nuisance when a ship class is co-developped by several countries), or remove it altogether
  • add "Navigation instruments"
  • add "Electronic Warfare"
  • add "Communications"
  • add "Information processing" (for modern warships)
