Talk:Infamous cases of child murder after 1900

[edit] "Infamous"?
How does this list define "infamy" for the purpose of this list? Esquizombi 09:01, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Over zealous in some years and not enough in others
there also appears to be missing children on the list. It is sad when a child goes missing but that is no indication that they have been murdered. other explanations include the child running away from home (even in the most seemingly normal and loving families there can be reasons for this, abduction, the child having had an accident in some place where they are yet to be found and several other scenarios. There are also large gaps in the list. for example the most infamous child murder cases of recent times in Britain, the Soham murders and the murder of Jamie Bulger do not appear on the list (so far as I could see). --Shearluck 08:48, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Rename proposal
It has been proposed that Infamous cases of child murder after 1900 be renamed and moved somewhere else, with the name being decided below. |
- Infamous cases of child murder after 1900 → ? —(Discuss)— Name is far too subjective for a Wikipedia article. Also "Infamous" is defined as "shameful, bad in reputation", which applies to all cases of child murder. It could be changed to Notable cases of child murder after 1900, but that's still not ideal. If anyone has any better suggestions. There are also problems with the list itself, is it trying to list every case since 1900, or just ones people remember? And who decides? —Masaruemoto 17:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

- I think this may be a case of listcruft, in which case, no amount of renaming will help. --Stemonitis 18:02, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- I would best support just: Notable cases of child murder, and let any famous pre-1900 cases come in. But I also support the proposal given: Notable cases of child murder after 1900. Patstuarttalk·edits 01:37, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm wondering whether it would be better to start a deletion debate rather than a renaming debate. Sam Blacketer 21:34, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- If you're still looking for a name, how about Notorious child murders since 1900, or just Notorious child murders? -- Avenue 11:19, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
