[edit] Plot Summary

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

A few years after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Sarah Connor and her young son, John Connor, live in hiding near a small town in the country of Paraguay. As far as the Connor's know, they've won their battle against Cyberdyne (the high-tech organization responsible for the creation of the Terminators, and Skynet), until a former Austrian counterterrorism operative, and the unwitting model for the T-800, Dieter von Rossbach, moves into the neighboring home.

Dieter is drawn to the mysterious Connors (or Kriegers, as he knows them), and eventually drawn into their revolution after Sarah reveals her history, just before they're attacked by one of the monstrous machines.

But the T-800's aren't the only forces Skynet has sent back this time. It has also sent back the beautiful, relentless Serena, an I-950 Infiltrator unit- Skynets newest and deadliest Terminator.

Now the Connors and von Rossbach must race against time, and relentless killing machines, to prevent an apocalyptic future from coming to pass.

[edit] Continuity

[edit] Canonical issues

Most of the events in Infiltrator, as well as its sequel novels T2: Rising Storm and T2: Future War, while never officially canon, were proved non-canon by the release of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which had similar plotlines, but was an all together different continuity than what was presented in the novels.

[edit] Timing

While no official date is given, John's age is stated to be 16, so it is easily assumed that the book takes place 3-6 years after the events of the second film.

[edit] Characters

Sarah Connor- Sarah is now living under the assumed name Suzanne Kreiger in Paraguay, hiding from the US government with her son John.

John Connor- John is now 16, attending school and attempting to lead a normal life, after his destiny is apparently re-written when Skynet was last defeated.

Dieter von Rossbach- An Austrian ex-counterterrorism operative, and the eventual model for the appearance of the T-800 series of Terminators, who joins the Connors on their quest to destroy Skynet once and for all.

Serena- The I-950 Infiltrator unit sent back to the present to destroy the Connors and secure the birth of Skynet.

[edit] Trivia

The plot device of a female Terminator, though long rumored, was forshadowing the antagonist of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
