Info-TV

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Info-TV is a company in Serbia that owns the only television news networks in Serbia and the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

The company originally started broadcasting in 2002 illegally from Belgrade, and was at that time called YU-Info. In 2003 as the name of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was changed to Serbia and Montenegro the company got a licence to broadcast and added a second new network called Info-24, and it changed the companies name from YU-Info to Info-TV. In the summer of 2004, the company announced that the stations were to be temporarily shut down and that they would fall under control of the federal government (since it is one of only 2 networks broadcasting in both republics). Since the summer of 2005 it has yet to restart broadcasting, implying that the firm went bankrupt.
