Are you sure that the name "India Point" comes from trade with the far East? I was under the impression it came from trade with the West Indies, or was just a generic term for far-off lands. I don't have any reference to that effect, just a question. And thanks for writing this up! I love India Point Park & walk my dog there every day.Bill.jesdale 04:58, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

According to Guide to Providence Architecture, it is Far East, though I myself was weary when I wrote it. Also, Providenceri.com says West Indies. Maybe Woodward got it wrong.--Loodog 20:01, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
