Indus Music
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Indus Music (IM) (now known as MTV Pakistan), was 24-hour music channel based in Pakistan. It was Pakistan's first music channel and "a milestone proving that Pakistani music has a lot to offer". Along with Indus News, Indus Plus and Indus Vision, IM is part of the Indus TV Network. IM has vigilantly tracked talent and created a vibrant local pop culture that has taken Pakistan by storm while poised for export.
In terms of format, IM compares with any international popular music channel offering round-the-clock-music. IM has interactive VJ's, celebrity interviews, comic fillers, theme shows, highly imaginative animations, live concerts and is the home of the first Pakistani music awards based on Nominations – IM Awards and IM Style Awards.
[edit] MTV partnership
IM again redefined the Pakistani Music Industry with an innovative step. In order to bring the world together through music, IM has come up with the IM-MTV Asia Collaboration. This historic step will not only promote the burgeoning Pakistani music industry but will also provide its talented artists with an opportunity to get global recognition.
The main objective of IM is the promotion and growth of Pakistan's music industry and to provide a platform for new bands and artists. With its own record label, IM is responsible for launching most of the new Pakistani talent.
Currently, Indus Music is a segment on Indus Vision, starting from January 1st, 2005.
