Indira Gandhi Park

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, created in 1972, is the secondest largest zoological garden in India behind the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The park, named after former prime minister Indira Gandhi covers an area of 425 acres (1.7 km²) and hosts over 400 species of animals . The zoo can be reached from either Coimbatore airport which is 75 kilometres away, or Pollachi railway station which is 35 kilometres away, by a series of buses run by the park.
