Indiana University East is a regional campus in the Indiana University System. It is colloquially also known as IUE. It is located in Richmond, Indiana, in Wayne County, Indiana.

IUE offers 54 degree programs at the associate-, bachelor-, and master-degree levels. Forty-eight of these are conferred through Indiana University, whereas 6 are conferred through Purdue University. IUE is well known to area residents for its nursing and medical-industry programs.
Indiana University East is organized into three schools and four divisions:

Indiana University East hosts a branch of the Purdue University College of Technology.

IUE's campus lies on 174 acres[1] (0.704 km²) of land on the northern edge of Richmond, Indiana, near Interestate 70. IUE, Ivy Tech, and Earlham College are the immediate area's largest colleges. IUE has four academic buildings with more planned over coming years.
IUE campus is immediately adjacent to another public college, the Richmond campus of the Ivy Tech Community College system. IUE also houses the Purdue University College of Technology's statewide presence in Richmond.

Indiana University East was formed in 1971 on 225 acres (0.911 km²) of land, purchased with community donations, on the northern edge of Richmond, Indiana, and received accreditation in 1975. Of those 225 acres, 174 acres are for IUE and 51 acres (0.21 km²) are for other non-IUE post-secondary educational uses, such as Ivy Tech Community College.
