Indiana Christian University
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Indiana Christian University (ICU) is an unaccredited conservative Christian university located in the Indianapolis suburb of Noblesville, Indiana. According to the school's catalog, it evolved from predecessor institutions Indiana Bible Institute (1923) and Indiana Bible college (1934), adopting the present name in 1940. In 1988 it became part of the Lester Sumrall Evangelistic Association (LeSEA Ministries) of South Bend, Indiana, and merged with the World Harvest Bible College in 1993. Lucy Sheets, the Dean of ICU, holds bachelor's, master of arts, and M. Div. degrees from ICU, and a doctorate from Life Christian University. The school has no accreditation from any organization approved by the US Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation.[1], but it has approval by the Indiana State Approval Agency for veteran's education for associate's and bachelor degrees[2]. ICU no longer has a South Bend campus.

[edit] Degrees
Indiana Christian University offers a one year "Certificate of Charismatic Studies", Associate of Arts, and Bachelor of Arts degrees [1]. The ICU website no longer lists graduate programs, but the its catalog does carry master's and doctorate curricula. Several faculty members hold associate's or bachelor's degrees from ICU, and are pursuing master's degrees at the same institution. Students are expected to conform to the school's "righteous and upright" living standards, and must agree to support and participate in the ministries of the sponsoring organization. Application to ICU requires a pastor's reference and a written personal testimony.
