Indalecio Liévano

Indalecio Liévano Aguirre was a colombian politician and diplomatic (Bogotá, july 24th, 1917-Bogotá, march 29th, 1982). He studied Laws, and get his lawyer degree in 1944 and he was member of the Colombian History Academy since 1950. After some diplomatics offices during the 1940 and 1950 decades, Liévano was elected as member of House of Representatives in 1964, and as Senator in 1970. In 1974 the new president, Alfonso López Michelsen appointed Liévano as Minister of External Relations and he became the "star minister" of that govern. In 1976 Liévano take the office of President during some days. In 1978 he left the ministry, and is elected President of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
When Liévano died, his name was named as a possible candidate for President.
