Made using Inkscape and GIMP. Based on [1] [2] [3] [4] (orignal maps were produced by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.)


The following text applies to all versions of the image till 07:56, 31 Dec 2004

Map of India, uploaded for discussion. The map shows the

  • Indian boundary (in accordance with Indian Govt. views) - dark brown line
  • The Line of Control (both Pakistan and Chinese control) - in dark red
    • LoC - Line of Control - divides Indian Kashmir and Pakistani Kashmir
    • LAC - Line of Actual Control - divides Indian Kashmir and Aksai Chin
  • Green region in Pakistani control
  • Red region in PRC's control.

Map based on CIA version and UNO version, depiction based on Encyclopedia Britannica map of India.
