Inadequacy

Inadequacy can refer to the following:

Inadequacy is an inability to fulfill a given purpose. For example, an 1/2 inch socket wrench is an inadequate instrument to tighten a 3/8 inch bolt. Most generally though, it refers to having less ability to get the job done.

In human nature:

Sexual inadequacy is synonymous with sexual impotence. It can have physical or psychological causes.

Psychological inadequacy are general feelings of insufficiency. These are often job or family related. Another common example is a Napoleon complex, which is a form of overcompensating.
