[edit] Overview
In Gowan Ring formed in 1994 and wanted to create music similar to the music of the Troubadours and Trouvères. IGR's sound has been described as dark, haunting folk music deeply rooted in the early music and European folklore. B'eirth has studied the music and poetry of both Troubadours and Trouvères and combined this with his more eclectic musical beginnings to make a beautiful and original sound.
He has toured and collaborated with Nick Castro, Brian Castillo (aka pFrenz-C), Michael Northam, Annabel Lee, Michael Moynihan, James Hodson, Martyn Bates, Joe Budenholzer, Alio Die, Ian Read, Matt Howden, Soriah and many others.
Recently, B'eirth began recording and touring under the band name, Birch Book, to compliment his endeavores in more traditional American “folk” styles. In Gowan Ring/Birch Book will continue to record and tour under both names.
