Imst is a city in Tyrol, Austria with approximately 8,689 inhabitants. It is located at 47°13′60″N, 10°43′60″E, 55 km west of Innsbruck, and an elevation of 828 m in the west of Tyrol, on the river Inn. Imst is the capital of the district (Bezirk) Imst.

Imst (more in German) received the rights of a market town in 1282, and its city rights in 1898.

In Imst the organisation SOS Kinderdörfer SOS Children's Villages was founded in 1949 by Hermann Gmeiner. The first SOS Children's Village is located in the city's part of "Sonnberg".
