[edit] Alfred Thayer Mahan
You deleted a reference in the Mahan article to him being the "pre-eminent naval strategist of his time" or some such on the basis of "weasel words"....Just so you know, just about every capsule-biography of Mahan refers to him this way, and while the citation probably should have been there, I recommend you take a minute to research your topics before confusing weasel words with consensus opinion. I'll be digging out my dusty naval history books to revise that article soon, so you'll have citations there.

[edit] [Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Sturmgrenadier]
hi, there is an organized campaign to save the above self-promotional vanity games-club page from deletion.... i'm wondering if you'd be willing to take a look and voice your opinion? normally i wouldnt care but (a) i hate organized campaigns from groups of users (especially when they have vested interests but dont declare them) and (b) when challenged about it, they suggested i try it myself! so here i am.... cheers! [edit] Rosario Dawson
Not copyright violation. The article in the link is a copy of wikipedia's article. Look at the bottom. Wikipedia lease's its texts to other sites. Crumbsucker 19:42, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- One other thing. Can you delete Rosario's listing from Wikipedia:Copyright problems? Thanks. Crumbsucker 04:53, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- I deleted the listing. --Impaciente 07:05, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Did you know? {{prod}} can have a parameter.
Hello there. You have proposed the article Bruneian Student Association for deletion without providing a reason why in the {{prod}} template. You may be interested to know that you can add your reasoning like that: {{prod|Add reason for deletion here}}. This will make your reasoning show up in the article's deletion notice. It will also aid other users in considering your suggestion on the Proposed Deletions log. See also: How to propose deletion of an article. Sandstein 14:36, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Userboxes
Hi! I was looking at your userpage, and I noticed that your userboxes are kind of unorganized, and if you'd like help with placing them in a managable table, I'd be happy to help. --hello,gadren 22:50, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hello, and thanks for the offer! However, what I'd really appreciate would is your pointing me to a resource that would instruct me how to do it myself. I wouldn't want to trouble you and I've been meaning to learn how to do so but haven't really taken the initiative yet; your comment has sort of brought it to my attention anew. --Impaciente 02:18, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Che, Cuba, Soviet Union and Communism
Thanks for being a voice of reason in the Che discussion.
- It astounds me that people still continue to entertain the notion of defending communism. Whenever I see such statements, I feel I have to say something. --Impaciente 07:21, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] On the Brian Reynolds Myers Entry
Dear Wikipedia User,
I am a North Korea area specialist and a contributor to the Wikipedia Juche ideology entry and Talk:Juche page. On 9 October 2006, you deleted approximately 50 percent of the Brian Reynolds Myers entry before beginning discussion in the Talk:Brian Reynolds Myers page. This is not a constructive or appropriate action for a designated WikiGnome. Your reason for the deletions is stated in the page history as follows:
“Removed a whole raft of unsourced criticism of the article's subject. Sounds like it was written by a vengeful English professor or grad student . . .”
The author of the Myers entry, user Billypilgrim45, refuses in the talk page to follow up on these changes on the grounds that Wikipedia is “public domain.” But he/she has said that the entry uses the works consulted, not the footnote, citation method. References to the views of Myers’ critics and to his polemics in North Korean Studies are then based on the sources listed in the “Selected Works” and “External Links” sections of the entry.
Since Brian Myers is a North Korean Studies specialist and a literary critic, Wikipedia readers should know how other critics and scholars have appraised his contributions in these technical fields. I observe in the Talk:Brian Reynolds Myers page on 23 September 2006 that the entry appears factual, but requires emendation and expansion and should be designated as a Wikipedia:Stub in its present form.
Please consider reverting the deleted sections of the Brian Reynolds Myers entry to the original and making formal (i.e., not content-based) editorial changes to the page as per the required duties of a WikiGnome. If you have training or a background in North Korean Studies or literary studies, please allow this to be reflected in further contributions to the Wikipedia entry in question. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely yours,
