The Imagiri 'land of snow' translation contradicts the 'mountains in the mist' translation. perhaps they could be the one and same, or not? SatuSuro 13:23, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Yes. In Sanskrit hima originally means snow, but because there is no snow in Java or Indonesia, the meaning has shifted to mist. Meursault2004 13:33, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
Nuwun, looking forward to getting back into wiki mode!! Oh, permisi snow in irian jaya!!SatuSuro
Sami-sami mas! Yes you are right. But the Indonesian word for snow is salju (from Arabic). Perhaps we can write to "Pusat Bahasa" :-) Meursault2004 13:06, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Waah saya masih ada persoalan besar dengan LIPI yang pertama, Pusat Bahasa nanti mas! SatuSuro 13:59, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Response to cleanup and wikify tags

Messages were left on the talk pages of the tag peersons. At this stage the intention is to create a separate 'list' of sections of the graveyards with the long term intention of including burial lists! (!!), thus creating the opportunity for a briefer and more to the point article about Imogiri that conforms to wiki style conventions. !!

Also very early on (and a google search will confirm this) the word is also found in Japanese language - any suggestion - should the new two articles be: Imogiri, Java and List of Sections and Graves of Imogiri Graveyard ?? SatuSuro 08:34, 4 July 2006 (UTC) (forgot to sign message)
