Imlibun

Imlibun means forest of tamarind trees. Imlibun is a bus stand in the southern part of Hyderabad, India. When built, it was purported to be the largest one of its kind in Asia, with 72 platforms spread over 30 acres (121,000 m²). This bus terminus is called Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) and is situated at Imlibun. People usually call it Imlibun bus station alrhough its official name is Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station. Many buses from other states like Maharashtra, Madhya pradesh, Orissa, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu arrive to this busstation.

There are many Depots that Andhra Pradesh State Road Transportation Corporation (APSRTC)set up in Hyderabad. The MGBS comes under Hyderabad Depot-1. There are different depots in different areas.

Almost every single bus goes to this bus station or starts from here because it is the main bus station. There are also other ones like the Jubilee Bus Station but this is the biggest of them all and of course the biggest in Asia.

The eight-hectare complex, completed at a cost of Rs 13 crore, has 74 platforms for incoming and outgoing buses, a waiting hall of 7,380 sq m and a shopping complex of3,455 sq m besides a 5,000 sq m area for private parking.
