1995 -- The Mad Dash The Yankees-Mariners 1995 Division Series games were decided in another extra-inning bout. With New York scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th, manager Buck Showalter called on starter Jack McDowell to close out the series. McDowell failed to record an out, as Seattle slugger Edgar Martinez laced a two-run double down the left-field line, scoring a sprinting Ken Griffey Jr. from first base, and clinching the Division series win for Seattle.
