- As I commented on this uer's other proposed deletion, of Tyne and Wear Metro signs: Please do not delete images such as these from the article pages they appear on (using an anodyne edit summary) before you propose them for deletion, or if you do, mention this IfD in the articles to which the images belong. - Delete as per nomination. Quoting from this discussion, "

Furthermore, (as I have already stated elsewhere) I agree with those that say that the station name in the infobox should be in text rather than an image, in case the image server is having a bad day, or a reader can't display the image for another reason. Unlike the Tyne and Wear Metro badges, these do not conform to the style used in actual London Underground signs, so that reason for keeping them does not apply, and in this case I can't think of a suitable home elsewhere in the station articles. - OB, OR, UE and CV, obsoleted in that a much more representative image is used within the article (actually shows the character, and not just the actor posing). Orphaned in that it has no transclusions. Non-encyclopaedic due to not representing the character at all, firstly it's a pose, secondly the character has never appeared in a scene like that, thirdly it's utter crap for representing a fictional character. Copyright vio as there's nothing to prove it's a "publicity photograph" (ABCs TOU explicitly state there content is for personal use, only.) — Matthew 17:03, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- How is the previous image more representative? Is he doing anything?
- And the image shows how he currently looks like; the other image is from the previous season. He's older, and has a different haircut, for starters.

- Oppose on the grounds that it has no transclusion because the one article it may be used fairly on is Andrew Van De Kamp, from where it has been removed pending this discussion, that both images are publicity photos of Shawn Pyfrom in character, which is backed up by the fact that this Downloads section contains the same shot but as a desktop wallpaper, and is clearly labelled Andrew and is intended to be such (note all the other images are also similarly labelled as their characters and are dressed and posing as their characters), and backed up by the fact that Shawn Pyfrom in real life does not look like that when he is not filming (see his IMDB gallery). The image is representative because it is a promo shot for the beginning of Season 3 - the other image is a shot from either Season 1 or the end of Season 2 (and the fact that I cannot tell which lends further weight against as being "representative") - anyone who has watched Desperate Housewives knows that this image is what Andrew now looks like. Anyone seeing the previous image and then watching A Weekend in the Country, for example, would notice that Andrew looks quite different. The fact that the same shot, if not the image uploaded, is in a downloads section should tell you all you need to know about its useage for publicity. - It doesn't, but the fact that it's in the downloads section as a wallpaper and turns up on other websites that have presumably asked for an image suggests that it's a promo shot. I was working on the principle that I read somewhere and can't find right now that we can use images in online press kits and for a fictional character, a wallpaper is his press kit. - I can't think of where that statement might be either, but I agree that, currently, the consensus on FU images on Wikipedia is that such promotional images for fictional characters are appropriate. An image taken from just any source, as this image appears to be, however, is not a promotional photograph. The image must come directly from, or must be known to have directly come from, a press kit. Unfortunately, most promotional photographs on Wikipedia are violations of this principle. If the image is to continue to be used, it must not be tagged with Template:Promotional, but with Template:Fair use in. If it is to be unused, then delete per WP:CSD#I5. --Iamunknown 19:31, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

- It's more then likely copyrighted to ABC (this is speculation - by me), it would require a citation however, I cannot provide this however as I don't know where to look. But that alone doesn't refute my other points to the IfD nomination, for example the non-character representation, basically he is *posing* for the camera, the previous one however shows him not making eye contact with the camera but with something else, and he's on Wisteria Lane - the end problem could to me be solved with a proper screen capture from an episode, there's no licensing dispute there, it would be a proper in-character shot, etc. Matthew 19:53, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
