You guys won't believe this? I happen to say that I saw a Fantasia print which uses Green FBI screens, A trailer for Beauty and the Beast, the 1992 Feature Presentation screen, and the regular classics logo. Very intresting is it. And that version is SUPER rare to find! And it is a 1992 tape-remaster and I have that version. \

Ah, phooey! Everybody knows there's no such thing as a Fantasia, Robin Hood or Rescuers Down Under tape with the green FBI warnings or remastered tape in 1992! There's only 1 copy of Fantasia & it DOSEN'T have any previews! It has the red/white FBI warning, orange FBI logo, no previews &/or FP logo & the 1988 regular classics logo! Same deal with Rescuers Down Under, there's only 1 copy & it DOSEN'T have 2 previews or 1992 FP logo, it has the red/white FBI logo, orange FBI logo, 1986 home video logo, 1 preview of The Jungle Book, 1991 FP logo & the 1988 regular classics logo! Also, same deal with Robin Hood, there's only 1 copy & it has 2 previews & not the 1988 original classics logo, it has the red/white FBI warning, orange FBI logo, 1986 HV logo with Mickey, 2 previews of The Jungle Book & The Rescuers Down Under, 1991 FP logo & cut-short version of the 1988 regular (not original) classics logo! I have the version of Robin Hood which uses green FBI screens, no previews, and 1988 original classics logo. And I have The Rescuers Down Under with Green FBI screens, 1986 WDHV logo, 2 previews of Jungle Book and Robin Hood, 1992 FP screen, and the 1988 regular classics logo. You know that Fantasia video I was talking about which uses green FBI screens, a trailer for Beauty and the Beast, 1992 FP screen, and 1988 regular classics logo? Well my Fantasia video dosn't have that my bad, a friend of mine has that version of Fantasia. My video uses Red/White FBI warning, and the orange "Licensed" logo. And My copy of TRDU uses 2 previews! It really does that!

I don't believe it! There's no such copy as that! I own Fantasia & it has the same stuff it normally has, the red/white FBI warning, orange FBI logo, no previews &/or FP logo & the 1988 original classics logo! According to everyone else, they say there's no copy of Rescuers Down Under with Green FBI warnings, 1986 HV logo, 2 trailers of The Jungle Book & Robin Hood, 1992 FP logo & the 1988 regular classics logo, but you decided to stick with it anyway, I highly agree with everyone on that. It's also not true that Rescuers Down Under had the green FBI warnings, no previews & 1988 regular classics logo, same deal with Robin Hood. Those green FBI warnings were introduced in 1992, there are no copies of Robin Hood, Rescuers Down Under, Dumbo, Fantasia & Sword in the Stone with green FBI warnings, (a la Shrek) end of story! Yeah! there are some copies of "Robin Hood", "The Rescuers Down Under", "Fantasia" that use green FBI screens Mr. Know it All! I don't believe that! Well why don't you ask my user friend Imax80! I bet he will know all that stuff! And he loves Disney more than anything!

  • To end all of these fights, Fantasia was withdrawn in December of 1991, your copy must've been a glitch copy when they were processing copies for 101 Dalmatians or something. "Robin Hood" does use Green FBI screens and the prototype Classics logo because Wile E2005 posted it on Youtube.com once (but not the screens, just the logo and the film's opening), I haven't seen TRDU with green screens, I have all the early printings. You know, kinda' think about it, I know why copies of Robin Hood & Rescuers Down Under have green FBI warnings, they were tape glitches, while working on 101 Dalmatians & Great Mouse Detective. So I think that prooves that the green FBI warnings were introduced in 1992 on 101 Dalmatians & 1992 tape glitches of Robin Hood & Rescuers Down Under. Mr.wheeler 11:55, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Robin Hood was dropped from print in 1994, when the Masterpiece version came out. I think in 1992 or 1993, Jungle Book was no longer available on video, so they cut those previews and gave them a more modern qauilty, so they just put the Green FBI screens/Classics logo (full), but Marco says his copy was printed in September 1991, but copies are always printed in a matter months before their actual release, so his was printed early in the proccess. --Imax80 23:27, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Here's how I see The Jungle Book, at the website, you can see its original 1991 print at http://www.sellersourcebook.net/members/watch/enlarge.php?aid=dia1990&img=3196/100_0868.jpg, which probally explains that its silk-screening edition wasn't available until May. 3, 1992, then dropped out of print when The Great Mouse Detective came out. Now let me tell you about Robin Hood, when it came out on Jul. 12, 1991, it was specifically made for silk-screening 'cause the 1984 & 1986 editions already had a white label, which explains that the copy with the green FBI warnings weren't made until Jul. 12, 1992, then dropped out of print when Great Mouse Detective came out. About The Rescuers Down Under, the original printing from Aug 27, 1991 had a vertical white label 'cause my neighbor has that copy, then on Sep. 27, 1991 it had a horizontal white label made to look like silk-screening containing the same stuff the 1st 1 had. Then on Sep. 27, 1992 came its silk-screening edition which had the same stuff the last 2 did. Then on Sep. 27, 1993, the copy with the green FBI warnings, no previews & 1988 regular classics logo. When Aladdin came out on video, Oct. 1, 1993, Rescuers Down Under dropped out of print. Now, Fantasia's original printing from Nov. 1, 1991 had a gold vertical label, then later re-printed Nov. 1, 1992 with silk-screening, which is why when Pinocchio was rereleased on Mar. 26, 1993, Fantasia dropped out of print. For The last time Imax80, I got my print in 1991. And I got that tape around October 1991- November 1991. And it was printed on September.17,1991. For that Rsecuers Down Under tape, I happen to say that my copy of The Rescuers Down Under was printed in April 1992, because it uses the 1992 Feature Presenation screen. EXTREMELY STRANGE! Isn't it? And it must of been a tape glitch. And it was printed after the relesse of 101 Dalmations, because 101 Dalmations was the first video to use the handwritting Feature Presentation screen from 1992.

Even as a Disney fan, I'm flexible, even to the point of collecting titles older than even Pete's Dragon (my oldest VHS is M*A*S*H, from Magnetic Video, released 1978). I hear there's a competition at IMDB.com's message boards as to what a user's oldest VHS cassette is (the oldest they've gotten to so far is "The Boston Strangler"). If you want to win that competition, you might need to concentrate not just on Disney but also on Magnetic Video and Paramount Home Video (they're the oldest VHS cassettes EVER). I just got a Magnetic Video copy of Hello, Dolly! off of amazon.com, and I might just have them all beat (yes, even the guy with The Boston Strangler) if it's the 1977 edition. --Ryanasaurus007 02:30, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Original FBI Warnings

1978-1984

These were the first FBI warnings Disney used. Some variations in 1981-82 has a blue screen saying,"FOR SALE ONLY NOT INTENDED FOR RENTAL" in big yellow letters. The first screen is a blue background with a black rectangle on the side with the FBI logo in white inside of it. Next to it is white text reading off the policy, and "WARNING" above it yellow letters. The next screen is blue as well. The yellow letters in Times font read off the last warning before fading to black like the other screens do. A blue "Duplication" screen was used once in a while.

This is a rare find, it's on several videos. It was first used on the Discovision releases, and then so forth, and ended on 1984 Cartoon Classic releases. --

Original Warnings Variation

1983-1984

Used with the blue Warning screen, this red FBI screen was a box containing the black FBI logo with a white section next to it containing the warning. This is very rare and used on tapes printed in 1983 and 1984.

-- Red FBI Warnings

1984-1991

The first screen is white with red-orange bar to the left. The FBI logo is inside it. Next to this red-orange bar is the warning. The next screen would be on a red-orange background. The warning is in white letters. Sometimes the first screen would slideshow to the next screen instead of fading to black. A Duplication screen was used once during its run.

Seen on several late 1984 releases and up until the early 1990s, when they were having a switchover with the next FBI screens. These are probably some of the easiest screens you can find on a Disney video.

-- Dark FBI Warning Variation

1986-87

The FBI warning is in a white outline, with the FBI logo in white. The warning is inside the box outline, and it's on a dark red background, the next screen is not faded to, but played by slideshow style. The screen is dark red with the simple font saying the warning. A video dealer announcement on an aqua/black background would follow, complete with a male announcer.

Only seen on late 1986 releases and some early 1987 releases.

-- Green FBI Screens

Early 1990s-1998

Like the 1986-87 variation, the FBI logo and warning inside a white box on a pine green background. The next screen is also on a green background, and the "Warning" is more 3D esque than the previous warnings. There was a "Duplication" screen used on it's early days, and that is it.

A release is still to be found for this set of warnings, it appeared on a rather uncommon reprinting of Robin Hood that was either very late 1991 or very early 1992. It also appears on several releases from the early to the mid 1990s.

-- Dark Green FBI Screens

1998-2000

Similar to the early 90s warnings, but the fonts are different, and the logo is a darker green. Seen on releases from the era. A Duplication screen was used on only one cassette (or another).

-- Blue FBI Screens

2000-

Several variations, the first screen resembles the 1990s warnings, but with a blue background. Found on any modern Disney cassette.

You told Mjen1952 or who ever his name is about the FBI Warnings, the previews, and the logos on the 1992 print of "The Rescuers Down Under" and the 1993 print of "Fantasia". Well here are a few corrections. The 1992 FBI Warnings (Green FBI Warnings) were actually 1991, because I have the 1991 "Robin Hood" print with Green FBI Warnings, and proto-type classics logo. And my copy was printed September.17,1991. And what does that get your new editions of "The Jungle Book" of "Robin Hood"? What is that about? On the 1993 print of "Fantasia", I think it has a trailer for Beauty and the Beast. I'm sure about that, because I have "Fantasia" with Red/White FBI Warnings and Orange FBI logo, and the 1989 regular classics logo. And how do you know about this Systemoperator? COMMENT ME BACK! Systemoperator.

Yes, there were 4 versions of The Rescuers Down Under made & 3 versions of Fantasia made & both of those tapes dropped out when Aladdin came out. The 1st version of The Rescuers Down Under's owned by my neighbor up the street. It's from August 27, 1991 & has the vertical white label texture on the tape. On the film's the 1984 FBI warnings, 1986 HV logo, the trailer of The Jungle Book, 1991 FP logo & 1989 classics logo. The 2nd version's from February 28, 1992, has the horizontal silk-screening texture & has the same film as last time. The 3rd version's from April 10, 1992 & has the February 1992 tape master. This time on the film, the 1992 FBI warnings, 1986 HV logo, 2 trailers to get your new editions of The Jungle Book & Robin Hood, 1992 FP logo & 1989 logo. For those who are wondering about the previews, they were encouraging you to get the 2nd versions of The Jungle Book & Robin Hood from February 28, 1992. The Jungle Book was the same preview, only this time they decided to do it for its 2nd release. It was also, still available in 1993, but the Robin Hood preview was encouraging you to get its 2nd release, but it dropped out when 101 Dalmatians came out. So, they were encouraging you to get it, before it goes back in the Disney Vault. Anyway, the 4th version of TRDU's from March 26, 1993 & still has the February 1992 tape master. On the film, this time, 1992 FBI warnings & no HV logo/previews/FP logo, but the 1989 logo. The 1st version of Fantasia's from November 1, 1991 & has a vertical gold label tape master. On it, the 1984 FBI warnings, no previews & 1989 logo. The 2nd version's from February 28, 1992, has the horizontal silk-screening tape master & the same film as last time. The 3rd version's from March 26, 1993 & still has the 1992 tape master. This time on the film, 1992 FBI warnings, a trailer of Beauty & the Beast, 1992 FP logo & 1989 logo. After getting a peak at the 1988 VHS of "Three Men and a Baby", I can tell everyone that the gold FP logo is not from 1991, but 1988. The same FP logo was also used on the 1990 VHS of "Pretty Woman". (Both of these titles are from Touchstone, BTW.) Gabrielkat 22:41, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

The Feature Presentation logo with the white italic cursive font on a lilac-blue background was not 1992. But 1991 because, the earliest printing of 101 Dalmatians was November 1991. So that proves that the FP screen was created in 1991.

And there you have it! Three Versions of The Rescuers Down Under, and Two versions of Fantasia and Robin Hood.

Am I right about this?

Yes and No. The Robin Hood prints are true, but however, there is only "1" version of Fantasia, "1" version. I don't where you guys got the idea of a 2nd edition from 1992, but "Fantasia" was released in Nov. 1, 1991 and discontinued at the end of 1991. That's that. Wait a minute, The second version was not relessed on November.1,1992. It was actually relessed around November and they had the 1992 FP logo because, the earliest printing of 101 Dalmatians was in November. And for the green warning screens, they were showen on November.1,1991, because that's when Robin Hood and The Rescuers Down Under with the green warning screens came out. And the Fantasia print with green FBI screens, Beauty and the Beast trailer, and 1992 FP logo, was relessed around mid November- early December, and at the end of December, Fantasia went out of print. And Copper20 has that print! When well you see The Rescuers Down Under with the green FBI warnings?
