Hi Imars, it's great that you start writing an article about Nußloch!

As for the coat of arms of Leimen, I didn't upload it, sorry. You might want to check out de:Wikipedia:Wappen (in German) for infomation on uploading coats of arms. (Warning: I've just read that page and I feel like my brain has been sucked out.)

As for the location map, I didn't upload it either ;) but there seems to be a source of GFDL'd maps, http://www.opengeodb.de/, where you can generate an appropriate image using the coordinates of Nußloch (never tried it myself, though).

Some optional suggestions you might want to consider for your article:

  • You may want to add a redirect from Nussloch to Nußloch because after the Rechtschreibreform, Nuss is spelled with two s while the spelling of Nußloch, it being a proper noun, remains the same.
  • Bergstraße should be wikilinked, I think. Unfortunately, right now it redirects to Kreis Bergstraße which is not quite the same thing.
  • When you wikilink dates, as in [[December 31]], [[766]], they are displayed according to each user's preferences.
  • You may want to cite the source of the population figure (population_ref).

Thanks for your inquiry. I was aware of the link have studied it comprehensively. The thing is, that there is no evidence and no reason from the sources to assume the Duke Theodo mentioned in Emmeram's vita to be a different Theodo than the one mentioned in Paulus Diaconus, Corbianian's vita or in other sources. The distinction is merely a historians' construct that, to my knowledge, is no longer widespread. The only argument for it is that Lantpert and Uta are not mentioned in necrologies of Theodo's family (where the four sons are mentioned). That however might be because of their involvement with Emmeram's death. The thing about the fathers is that we have no reliable notice about whose son Theodo was. These are mere speculations. This, BTW, is also what the link tells us: if you follow the link to Theodo I you will find an almost empty page, whereas all the information is at [Theodo II, which combines all notes about a Duke Theodo - just like I have done. Thanks for your courtesy on this article. On my userpage, you'll note I am done with this article; mostly because there are many good biographies written on him, as he is noted as a local person of note. However, I should note his NOT the founder of Atherton. He is the founder of "Fair Oaks", the former name of Atherton.

Also, you'll note my article had footnotes. I live in Menlo Park and Atherton is just a stone's throw away. As such, and that I am a local historian, footnotes are very important. As such, I would request that you footnote all new entries - so as to retain consistency. Also, please remove redlinks. You might consider making them italics instead.

Thanks for the book tip: I've heard good things about that one, but I still haven't gotten around to seeing it. If you are also interested in former states, perhapes you might be interested in checking out WP:WPFC (the Prussian WikiProject is largely my test project for things that are needed for WPFC).
No problem with the infobox - once the auto-categorisation is set up and the variables made available in both languages, then it should be finished. - 52 Pickup 15:54, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Just importing everything from the German wiki "as is" will be fine for most fields, but some things will always need a bit of extra user input:
  • The translation of some text fields that could never be automated (eg. Gliederung and Lageplanbeschreibung).
  • The mayor entry is normally wikilinked - that should probably be undone. The template checks automatically for the presence of an entry with that name.
  • One should also look out for any unusual wikilinking in the Partei field, particularly if a minor party is used.
  • The extra information from Infobox Town DE should also be preserved: notably the source URL for the population data (the wikilinking from this URL should be removed)
  • Add a representative photo of the location, if possible. If there is a good picture for this, it will probably be already on the page somewhere.
  • And when/if the auto-categorisation works, the manual "Cities/Towns... in ..." categories at the bottom of the page should be deleted. This way, any false categorisations that are currently in place will be undone and corrected by the infobox.
If there is anything else that needs to be done, post it on the template talk page - we should probably come up with a set of instructions for those who want to import infobox data from the German wiki. - 52 Pickup 18:26, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
