[edit] Active dates

The imagevio template, now includes a link to today's section of WP:IFD which is a good idea. However, since it includes active date variables, it gets confusing for anyone who visits page of the image in question. In practice the date will have changed, and the link will direct the reader to the wrong section of WP:IFD.

It might work better, if the original editor was encouraged to {{subst:imagevio...}} the template onto the image description page. I think this is how WP:VFD works. -- Solipsist 11:59, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Change to the template

I have edited the template so that it has a better resemblance to {{copyvio}}, specifically the addition of a copyright graphic and a descending list. In addition, the "If you listed it" now complies with the current system that copyvio has had for quite a while now. You are welcome to improve the copyvio resemblance, should you so choose. 24.61.119.222 20:19, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Should the top span say "POSSIBLE COPYRIGHT VIOLATION"?

Should this top span, which is already used on {{Copyvio}}, be used on imagevio?

POSSIBLE COPYRIGHT VIOLATION

Just wondering... the current bar is still in a style long since abandoned by copyvio. I've just added it to the template, as that aforementioned old text is now redundant with number six in the rundown of what to do with the potential infringement... Wcquidditch 22:05, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Why was the section with the copyright symbol removed?

I am wondering -- why did the template lose the portion that had the "appears to infringe" text and the copyright symbol when nomination text generation arrived here? It wasn't removed when {{Copyvio}} got it -- why was it removed here? Just wondering... Wcquidditch | Talk 23:35, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] What should be removed — the image or the links

The template reads:

5. If this media is linked by an article, it should be removed. To see a list of articles that currently link to this image, see the File links section below.

This suggests to me that the image itself should be removed at the time the template is put to use. If this is correct, how do I go about removing the image?

There is only one link to the image I have listed, so for me it would be easier to remove the link from that article. --meco 07:13, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

That point was worded unclearly. You should remove any links from articles to the image when you (or someone else) puts up the tag; eventually an administrator will get around to deleting the image itself. —Simetrical (talk • contribs) 18:27, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] added subst for user's talk page

I added the subst for the user's talk page from WP:Copyright problems to the instructions in the "If you have just labeled this..." section. If anyone knows how to construct a URL for the user's talk page feel free, I don't know of any variables that will give me that. RainbowCrane 02:54, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
