Imad Fares

Imad Fares (born 1961) is an Israeli Druze , and is a Brig. General in the Israeli Defense Force. He won acclaim as the commander of the Givati Brigade (infantry) from 2001–2003.
Fares is today the director of security of all Israeli military forces including the IDF, Border Guard, and police on the southern Israel-Egypt border. Fares is also notorious for his violent temper which has led to confrontations both with soldiers and officers under his command, as well as police officers. On September 1, 2006 Fares was allegedly involved in a violent incident when Border Guard policemen failed to identify him and requested to search his car at a checkpoint in Eilat.
