Ilyas Attar Qadri was born in the month of Ramadan. Ilyas Attar Qadri follows the Hanafi fiqh although he accepts the three other fiqhs. Spreading the word of islam has always been a great aim of Ilyas Attar Qadri.

Hazrat Alama Moulana Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadri (Damat-e-Barkathum'ul a'alya)is a scholar& SAINT. He has written many books in Urdu and English; some which are:
- the mysterious beggar
- the prices eid .
- veeraan mahl(Urdu).
- peyt ka kufle madina(Urdu).
- subh e buhaaran(Urdu).
- Faizan-e-Sunnt (part One).
- Faizan-e-Bismillah.
- Faizan-e-Ramdan.
- Adab-e-Tua'am.
- Namaz Kay Ahkam.

Ilyas Attar Qadri is the head of a "non-political international propogational movement". Its aim is to guide people to the good and fill their hearts and minds with peace and love of the holy prophet sullula hu alahi wasalam (peace and blessings be upon him his family and all his companions).
The people who are part of this can sometimes be identified as those wearing green turbans, which the Prophet (peace be upon him) wore. However there are many followers of Dawat-e-islami who do not wear any turban at all.
