Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. [edit] Your message

That's OK — my message could have been less testy too. Could we discuss naming conventions on the Talk page, though? It would help with other articles as well as this one. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:43, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Morgenstern

Morgenstern dont qualify for inclusion in the all-women band list - unless those five other band members have had a sex change since their last band photo, [1]. Megan1967 06:44, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

Hi Megan! The Morgenstern you linked to is not the same as the one in the article I wrote. The Morgenstern I wrote about IS an all-female band, and consists of one woman, named Andrea Boerner. The link for her band is here www.ant-zen.com/morgenstern. Thanks! Iluvchineselit 06:48, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

  • According to [2], Morgenstern is comprised of two people (with Andreas Schramm), and the recording Cold [3] with P. Münch. Megan1967 05:56, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
  • According to the liner notes for Cold, Schramm is the co-producer of this album. I can assure you that Morgenstern is one person, a woman. P. Muench may of also assisted, but he is not a member of Morgenstern, he is a member of Synapscape. The site you linked to is a review of Maschinenfest, the world's largest noise festival, and is someone's account of what happened there. It is very likely that Schramm and Boerner shared the stage (as is often the case with a) bands that consist of only one person, and b) friends), but as for Schramm being a member, that is false. I hope this information helps, and if you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask. Iluvchineselit 07:34, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
    • I've just read the discussion. According to User:Heidimo (who created the article), the list should not contain individual female artists. I'm assuming by individual he means solo. If Morgenstern is indeed a solo act sorry, it doesnt qualify for entry. I would have no objections to Morgenstern being listed under List of solo musicians or List of female musicians (if there is any of those). List of all-women bands has been a dumping ground for entries in the past that dont qualify. If you look on the Talk page, it took considerable effort to research and remove those acts to other lists which dont qualify. I dont object to Morgenstern being listed on Wikipedia - I dont feel that it qualifies for List of all-women bands which is already quite a substantial list as is. Perhaps you could start a seperate list for female solo musicians, I would not object to that. Megan1967 05:14, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
      • Just to show I dont have anything against Morgenstern - I've added links to:
List of electronic music artists and DJs
List of ambient artists
List of experimental musicians

[edit] Featured article candidacy for an Hugo Chavez subarticle

I noticed you have listed yourself in Category:Leftist Wikipedians. That said, you will probably be interested in an Hugo Chávez Featured Article Candidacy (FAC). Chavez himself happens to be a socialist politician. As usual, please use your own higher judgment in deciding how to vote on this FAC, if you should decide to devote a few seconds to the matter. [edit] Deletion of 'left wing wikipedians' category

Hi. I saw you're (like me) listed in this category which is up for deletion. Hoped you'd like to vote in favor of keeping it... Thanks! Larix 02:39, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] German

Your editing of German inductrial music articles has been prolific. Could you keep in mind that German links to a disambiguation page. I think that you what you may have meant (in, for example, Signum (album)) is to link to the country Germany. To do this you would use [[Germany|German]] which looks like German. We at link repair would greatly appreciate it.--Commander Keane 07:00, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

What is your beef? I add info that is objective. DreamGuy, a skeptic, edits from that POV. I've been there, done that, in the field. Nobody else here has. I know the players, face to face. Nobody else here does.

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Leaetherstrip.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Leaetherstrip.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Ceno04-206.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Ceno04-206.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image:R 81909-001.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:R 81909-001.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Chowbok 17:01, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Synapscape99.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link.
