Ilteris Sad was the founder of the second Göktürk Empire (reigning 680 - 691/692). He made a stand against the Chinese in order to refound the Göktürk Empire. He managed to accomplish this and founded an empire with even larger borders than its predecessor. His name Il-teris (İlteriş in Turkish) means uniter, refounder(teriş) of the nation (il).
