Ilseng
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ilseng is a village in the municipality of Stange, Norway. Its population (2005) is 876, of which 22 people live within the border of the neighboring municipality Hamar.
Its railway station is served by Rørosbanen, and is the first stop after Hamar.
Ilseng is also the site of a prison. Norway's drunk driving law is among the toughest in the world, with a mandatory 3 week prison sentence for first-time offenders, who serve their sentence at Ilseng prison if they are men (women go to another facility). "Vacationing in Costa da Ilseng" is an euphemism for serving such a sentence.
