If you ask me, this article is a bloody mess. I fail to see how anything short of a total rewrite could make it better. Personally, I lack the necessary erudition and research to the source material, however.

I put this up for copyediting, but then got too peeved about it, and wrote up some stuff myself, based on both Finnish and English translations of Kalevala. --Agamemnon2 12:13, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
