Ilmington Revolution FC

The Ilmington Revolution Football Club is a football club founded in 2001.
Members of The Stratford-upon-Avon Football Alliance.
Originally an idea borne by club chairman Rich James back in 1999, with the aim of bringing together all of his friends to play at the same club after they found themselves spread across several different Stratford based sides. The idea became reality when Jon Ryan-Gill decided he'd like to try his hand at management after a spell playing for Midland Combination side Wilmcote. JRG took the bull by the horns and fleshed out James' skeletal plan over 2000. The club was finally formed in May 2001 as soon as a suitable location for the ground had been found. This location being the leafy Warwickshire village of Ilmington (The Revolution name having been James' intended club name since day one). The final support came from local businessman Tony Winters who agreed to sponsor and finance the Rev from day one, and was invited to become the club's inaugural President
Bringing in the ever dependable James Bishton as club skipper and Matt Petty as treasurer, the club had a ground, a committee and upon acceptance to the Stratford Alliance for the 2001-2002 season, some fixtures. The committee was completed by Iain Lythall, in the unusual role of 'Bloke whose parents house the club was formed in'.
