Ilemela District is one of the 8 districts of the Mwanza Region of Tanzania. It is bordered to the North by the Nyamagana District, to the South and East by the Misungwi District and to the West by Lake Victoria.

According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of the Ilemela District was 265,911. [1]
