Ilanji is a panchayat town in Tirunelveli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Ilanji had a population of 9423. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Ilanji has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 57%. In Ilanji, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age. apart from above ilanji have a centroid of a triangle viz the corners are sen kottai, courtallam, tenkasi each are located 3km from ilanji so peoples atre called it as triplet city in thirunelveli also bounded by two great river s are therkaru and vadakkaru
