Ilan Shavit

Founding Partner of the commercial and corporate Tel Aviv law firm Shavit Bar-On Gal-On Tzin Nov Yagur, Law Offices.
Born in London, England. Resident in Israel since 1972.
Graduate of the Law Faculty of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Advanced Law studies at that faculty. Formerly a lecturer in Public International Law in the Hebrew University Law Faculty and a member of the Faculty's law review editorial board.
Clerked in the Supreme Court of Israel (Hon. Justice Gabriel Bach) and in Raveh, Abramson & Co. Associate lawyer with Raveh, Abramson & Co., Dan Cohen & Co. and Dan Cohen, Spigelman & Co, one of Tel Aviv's major firms where he was a partner until the founding of this firm.
Mr. Shavit's main spheres of activities are foreign and local corporate law and international transactions and corporate structures, commercial litigation, in court and arbitration, hi-tech, bio-tech and start-up corporate incorporation and financing, minority and majority shareholder rights and other fields of corporate law.
Mr. Shavit is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ruby Enterprises Group, a multi-national group of trading companies, and of MedexScreen, an advanced medical devices company, and serves on the board of UTC - Underwater Technology Center.
Mr. Shavit served as an elected member of the Yehud-Monosson City Council, representing the community of Neve Monosson and as member of the City Planning Commission from 2003 to 2006. Within the municipal merger of the town of Yehud and the community of Neve Monosson, Mr. Shavit conceived the first borough in Israel, a concept which was implemented by the Minister of the Interior in Neve Monosson. In 2007, Mr. Shavit was appointed to the position of Mayor's Advisor for the Community Administration of Neve Monosson.
