Il Piantissimo

Il Piantissmo is a Nintendo character, first appearing in Super Mario Sunshine. He challenges Mario to a race three times throughout the game. He also is dressed up in a pink Pianta costume, much to the dismay of the real Piantas. At the end of Super Mario Sunshine, he found Shadow Mario's paint brush. There is a rumor going around that he may be based of of the Legend of Zelda series running man found in Orcana of Time and Majora's Mask. They both have the same skin color and body structior. Another theory is that Piantissimo will seek revenge on Mario in a later game, using the paint brush. Piantissimo may well be related to the ghost in Luigi's Mansion, Melody Pianissimo. It is currently unknown who he truly is; some have theorised that he is actually Waluigi, as both Waluigi and Piantissimo have dark skin and a goatee.
