Ikeda Motosuke

Ikeda Motosuke (池田 元助; 1559May 18, 1584) was a samurai commander in the Sengoku period. He was the first son of Ikeda Tsuneoki. His young brother was Ikeda Terumasa.

He served Oda Nobunaga in his early years. In 1579, since he was active in beating Araki Murashige with his brother, Terumasa, Nobunaga praised them for that. In 1582, he served Hashiba Hideyoshi after Nobunaga died at the Incident at Honnōji.

In 1584, he led the force to beat up Mikawa Province at the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute. However, he was kicked back by the Tokugawa Ieyasu's force, and died in the battle.
