Iizuna, Nagano

Iizuna (飯綱; -machi) is a village located in North side of Nagano City,Kamiminochi District, Nagano, Japan.
Samizu village and the Mure village amalgamated on October 1, 2005, and this town established it.
As of 2006, the village has an estimated population of 12,438 and a population density of 165.2 persons per km². The total area is 75.31 km².
[edit] Geographical features
13.9Km from east to west. It is 15.6Km in the south north. The Torii River (鳥居川 Toriigawa) flows at the center of the town. The Yaja River (八蛇川 Yajagawa) that flows from the Mount Reisenji (霊仙寺 Reisenjiyama) on the west edge of the town is joined. This river forms the river terrace.
The Madarao River (斑尾川 Madaraogawa) flows from the Shinano town, and flows on the north side of this town. It joins the Chikuma River via the Nakano city in the east.
There is an artificial river made 400 years ago.
